The people behind the panel
Clark & Soma is a small, senior controls team. Whether you are sizing us up for a project or a job, here is who you will be working with.
Small team. Senior controls work.
Clients and candidates work directly with experienced controls professionals. There is no layer of account managers between you and the person doing the engineering: Alex Clark, Founder & Controls Engineer, is on the project.
Every building I walk into has a story. Most of them are running sequences written a decade ago for a building that no longer exists — different tenants, different loads, different equipment. My job is to make the controls tell the truth about the building they're actually in.

How the team is structured
Senior-led work, clear communication, and a small team you will actually talk to.
Founder / Controls Lead
Sets project direction, scope, and controls strategy, and stays involved from first conversation through delivery.
Operations / Administrative Support
Coordinates scheduling, documentation, and client communication so engagements stay organized and on track.
Building Automation Engineer
Configures, integrates, and commissions control sequences, graphics, and field devices across mixed-vendor systems.
Good controls work is quiet. The building just runs, the calls stop, and the operators trust their graphics again. That is the standard I hold the work to.
No posted roles right now.
We are not hiring for posted roles yet, but we are open to hearing from controls professionals, engineers, and operators aligned with practical building automation work.
Sizing us up for a project instead?
Same senior-led work, applied to your building.
